A pilot marked the Christmas season in an extraordinary style on Monday, December 15, by creating a Nativity scene thousands of feet above northern Ohio. According to data from the flight-tracking website FlightAware, the pilot flew a Piper Cherokee that departed Wood County Regional Airport in Bowling Green at 5:36 p.m. and returned roughly five hours later. During the flight, the pilot carefully traced the outlines of the Nativity, forming recognizable silhouettes of Mary and Joseph kneeling over the infant Jesus in a manger, a scene drawn from the biblical account of Christ’s birth. The intricate aerial design stretched across a wide swath of northern Ohio, reaching as far east as Mansfield before looping back toward Bowling Green.
