No One Will Come: Argentine Bishops Divided over Francis' Visit

Francis feels betrayed by a good part of the leading Argentinean bishops who, according to him, did not do everything possible to take votes away from Milei in favour of the Peronist/Socialist Massa, writes La Cigüeña De La Torre (InfoVaticana.com, November 23)

• At the moment, Francis is targeting a handful of Catholic Argentinean bishops - who can be counted on the fingers of one hand - whom he considers an obstacle to his ideology.

• These prelates are good shepherds and faithful, but they do not shine and keep a low profile.

• Their apostolic zeal and disinterest in "careerism" arouse the envy of the mediocre Argentine episcopate, which is plagued by ignorance, ambition and greed.

In December, Francis will send a visitator to one of them. According to Caminante-Wanderer it is Puerto Iguazú Bishop Nicolás Baisi

• Many leading bishops don't think Francis should visit Argentina.

• Cigüeña quotes one of them: “The most difficult thing, however, is that we bishops are not in a position to guarantee a massive mobilisation for Francis' events.”

• “The recent electoral campaign has revealed a lot of rejection and indifference towards Francis' figure.”

The Pope should stop visiting any country. That would be a blessing. Let him spend time praying, Eucharistic adoration and celebrating the Mass.

Prachtig. Paus Franciscus heeft een zo een grote chaos gemaakt van de Rooms Katholieke kerk, dat zijn eigen landgenoten, de Argentijnen, hem niet meer zien.
