Suicide of 35-Years Old Italian Priest

On Saturday, July 5, Rev Matteo Balzano, 35, a priest of impeccable external look from the Diocese of Novara, Italy, was found dead in the parish rectory of Cannobio.

He took his own life. The diocese of Novara confirmed the tragedy.

The diocese released a statement signed by Don Franco Giudice, vicar for the clergy, stating that “only the Lord, who scrutinizes and knows each of us, can understand the most impenetrable mysteries of the human soul.”

According to Notizie.it, the funeral is scheduled for July 8 in the collegiate church of San Vittore in Cannobio.

Yes, it's a very serious matter. The faithful should be horrified by it.
Only on a personal level, I understand, and on a conditional basis, can one offer a private prayer for the soul of suicided.
