Francis Abandoned Old "Biases” Against Martin Luther

Pope Francis has valued alleged "gifts" in Protestant denominations during a meeting with a delegation of the Lutheran World Federation (December 7).

He went on thanking “God that the painful divisions that kept us distant and in conflict for centuries, have brought us in recent decades to a journey of communion, the path of ecumenism awakened by the Holy Spirit.”

According to Francis this led us to abandon "old biases like those about Martin Luther" and "the state of the Catholic Church in that period.”

A bit of a chump isn't he "Francis" Look at that statue of Luther! If I see the sculptor I'll shake his hand. He's clearly depicted Luther as burning somewhere. Who commissioned it? Was it meant to be a Catholic joke?

As Christians we are always sorrounded by enemies and suppressed by them. All we can do is pray, because those governors and Roman officials who could help and do something d o n't w a n t to do it.
