Incredible: English Bishops Preach Common Sense

The bishops of England and Wales have issued an 11-page pastoral text on gender entitled 'Intricately Woven by the Lord'.

The bishops note that many erroneous views of the human person dominate the discourse, leading to Catholics being discriminated against or even losing their jobs.

A new language has been imposed to describe "diverse" [= false] ideas, with words and phrases appearing in public discourse such as 'trans', 'transgender', 'gender identity theory', 'born in the wrong body', 'gender fluidity' or 'gender other than the sex assigned at birth'.

The bishops use the term 'gender dysphoria' or 'gender dysphoric persons' for people who are in conflict with their natural gender. They explain that the human person consists of body and soul as a unity. The union of spirit and matter forms a single nature. Real gender and subjectively perceived gender ("gender identity") cannot be separated.

It is necessary to value one's own body in its femininity or masculinity and then [after marriage] to meet someone who is different. The bishops want to help gender confused people to rediscover their humanity as created by God.

They criticise the pressure to encourage adults and children to conform physically to the opposite sex in order to resolve their "gender dysphoria", although "many do not find ultimate happiness in this transition".

The bishops affirm that confused people, "desperate and disturbed in their own sense of self and reality", are known and loved by God.

The weak key sentence: "We cannot encourage support for reconstructive or drug-based medical interventions that harm the body. Nor can we legitimise or support a way of life that doesn't respect the truth and vocation of each man and woman, called to live according to the divine plan.”

Yes, I agree…the Pastoral Treatise published by the good English Bishops is indeed very weak, but it is theologically sound and, more importantly, is still a far better and weightier Text than the rubbish about “infinite dignity” Kissy is currently promulgating. Let us pray earnestly for Mary’s Dowry, that the Church therein will be renewed and revitalized under the auspices of the Holy Ghost, and endowed with a fresh determination to adhere to and hold fast the perennial and immutable Deposit of Faith as it was given to Christ’s own Apostles and handed down to us from Holy Saints, Martyrs, Pontiffs and Doctors of the Church, who, throughout millennia, have anchored Holy Mother Church to the Truth.

There was good reason why Fr. John Hardon sj (last of the best), stated that pregnant women should pray with their babies in the womb and everyday take holy water and make the sign of the cross on their stomach.
