The idea that Jesus would have left a murderer in his grave sin, when hr had the capacity to lessen the sin (and bring about repentance) does not sit well with me. Cardinal O’Malley has often quipped, “Jesus didn’t do funerals.”
(Sigh) I must admit that I watched the first two seasons online (at the prior Catholic church we went to) even though I had reservations about the series. All those reservations that I had about the series came to fruition the more I watched: discrepancies in the Bible/Catholic version of events/healings/etc in Christ's life.
