Pro-Palestine Protest at Cathedral Eucharist Is "Disappointing" and "Inappropriate"

A group of pro-Palestinian demonstrators interrupted on Sunday a Eucharist at the Cathedral St Patrick in Armagh, Ireland, just as parishioners had received Communion.

The desecrators claimed an alleged "silence of the Catholic Church on the genocide in Palestine".

During the livestream of the Eucharist, it can be seen how about 30 people entered the Cathedral carrying signs with various slogans: "Jesus was a Palestinian," "Don't make Jesus complicit in genocide," and "Thou shalt not kill, except for Palestinians".

The presider of the Eucharist, Rev Barry Mathews, said after the desecration that the Church is not a political organization, but a community that trusts in God's plan and in his presence.

He also highlighted the contributions made by his parishioners to help children in Gaza, noting that £5,000 had been donated to that cause.

"Let's not use Mass as a quick photo opportunity."

A spokesman for the Archdiocese of Armagh said that the actions were "very disappointing" and "inappropriate". The Archdiocese reaffirmed its "sympathy" for the plight of the people of Gaza.

I kinda have a feeling that antichrist needs to involve all major religions in this war just so that he can say that all religions need to come together as brothers and sisters and stop fighting

Louis IX

Wait, shouldn’t they be doing this in a synagogue?

Marysrose

Francis' church is political and Masonic, pretending all religions are equal to Catholicism, thus negating Jesus' sacrifice.

SonoftheChurch

The unholy. 😣

Louis IX

Typical effeminate, wimpy response that will only encourage more desecrations. And since when do Catholics call the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, a Eucharist? Is that a European thing?

Orthocat

No it's a Vatican II thing. The "Holy Sacrifice of the Mass" is replaced by "Eucharist" which means thanksgiving in Greek. Though employed by modernists, it's a perfectly legitimate word in Catholic theology. It's just another term for the Blessed Sacrament. For example: Eucharistic adoration, Eucharistic processions, etc. The liberals just like it better because they HATE the Mass!

Orthocat

I suppose mosques have pro-Palestine demonstrations all the time...🤪

Just try even THINKING about doing this in a mosque and see what happens.
