Elder Brothers? Israeli Regime Protects anti-Christian Haters

Recent anti-Christian attacks in Israel have been concentrated in Jerusalem and the Stella Maris Monastery in Haifa, Cardinal-designate Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, told CatholicNewsAgency.com (August 26).

In Haifa there is an extremist anti-Christian movement linked to Rabbi Berland, a convicted sex offender, who believes that a supposed tomb of the prophet Elijah [who ascended to heaven in a whirlwind] is in the Stella Maris church and therefore wants to occupy it.

In Jerusalem, anti-Christian Jews are increasingly present in the Old City calling Christians and Christian symbols "pagan". This phenomenon is growing because they are "protected" by politicians in the government.

Following Pizzaballa’s meetings with the government and the police, there is now “more awareness" of the problem.
