Collapse: Diocese To Close 60% (!) Of Its Churches Within Five Years
Haarlem-Amsterdam Diocese, Netherlands, announced at a September 10 meeting with 90 parish administrators that 99 of its 164 churches will be closed down in the next five years.
The reasons are the dwindling number of faithful and, as a consequence, lack of money. The remaining 65 churches are divided into 37 that will continue for five/ten years as "support churches" and only 28 "central churches" that are considered necessary in the long term.
Vicar General Bart Putter told PillarCatholic.com, without blushing, that the idea is to create "28 active places of evangelisation." The Council Church has become entirely sterile and the word "evangelisation" is an empty phrase used to throw sand in people's eyes.
