When Success Becomes a Problem: Summorum Pontificum in Canada

After a Vatican questionnaire about the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) emerged, VoxCantor.Blogspot.com (April 27) shared the situation in Toronto and the three surrounding dioceses: Hamilton, London and St. Catharines.

In these four dioceses, about thirty diocesan priests offer the TLM. Many of them are newly ordained and young.

• Toronto: There are five TLM every Sunday, and at least three other parishes offer weekday TLM.

• Hamilton: There are two regular places and a third occasional one.

• London: There are two growing communities.

• St Catharines: There is a Fraternity of Saint Peter church, and a sprinkling of ad hoc diocesan TLM.

Additionally, there are at least four PiusX chapels in Toronto, New Hamburg, Orillia and St Catharines.

This Vatican questionnaire might turn out to be an embarrassment. The Vatican will lie about the results, someone will leak the truth and... oh dear. :D

It might just be a bureaucratic stall.
