He mentions the big 2017 centenary of the apparitions, where there was "lot of music" and "other artistic performances." Guerra admits that there are still wonderful exhibitions in Fatima, "but they are too expensive, in my opinion, and their pastoral results are less obvious."
After going into retirement, Guerra noticed that the pilgrims "need an atmosphere of prayer.”

Fatima's present rector, Monsignor Carlos Cabecinhas replied by attacking Guerra who himself initiated international congresses inviting contemporary [pompous] "theologians" and "intellectuals."
Guerra produced mainly large "ceremonial spaces" that must be maintained today, he complained.
