Caution! This Litany Kills Popes

An unnamed Dominican nun has been calling for the daily prayer of the Dominican litany of Our Lady (down below) to prevent the imminent danger of the abolition and destruction of the Roman Rite.

Praying this litany has been working wonders. In the Dominican Order it is said that it can pray popes "into the grave."

The Dominicans prayed this litany in the high Middle Ages when there were rivalries between them and the diocesan clergy at the university of Paris.

Innocent IV (+1254) surprisingly wanted to deprive the mendicant orders like Dominicans and Franciscans of their pastoral privileges which allowed them to perform pastoral activites outside the parish setting.

In this time of need, the Dominicans took refuge in the Mother of God. Sixteen days after Innocent IV issued the bull against the Dominicans, he died. His successor Alexander IV lifted the ban.

This is the origin of the belief that the Dominican litanies have a special efficacy as prayers of intercession with God. The cardinals at the Roman Curia said at the time: "Beware of the litanies of the preachers [= Dominicans] because they work miracles!”

This is the first of the two litanies.

That is true for real Popes.
For the false ones it must be said what they are and don`t obey them.
Ultraviolet
Not an issue now since there aren't any false Popes. ;-)

With a headline like that, half of GTV is going to going to chant themselves hoarse praying this litany to Our Lady. :D
