Cardinal Müller: The Mistake Was to Bring the Idols In, Not to Kick Them Out

The "great mistake" was to bring the Pachamama idols into Santa Maria in Traspontina, not to remove them, Cardinal Gerhard Müller told Raymond Arroyo (EWTN, October 24, video below).

He explained that during the Synod there was an “adoration of wooden idols" which is “absolutely against the first Commandment.”

The cardinal called it “a grave sin” and “a crime against Divine law” to bring idols into a church, because idolatry is a grave sin and cannot be mixed with the Christian liturgy.

The task of the Magisterium of the Church is to “preserve God’s people from deviations and defections” in order to “guarantee them the objective possibility of professing the true faith without error” (890). Gerhard Cardinal Müller, 'Manifesto of Faith' 2012-2017
He was one of the men causing the problem. Hw was a complete failure as CDF prefect and before that went hand in hand with his enthusiasm for Liberation Theology.
God bless Cardinal Müller
