The HONOUR of the Holy See Is At Stake: “We Cannot Join Novus Ordo”

“The traditional liturgy is our very being,” Father Louis-Marie de Blignières, Superior of the Dominican Fraternity of St. Vincent Ferrer, replies in his Christmas mail to the question if his priests should preside the Novus Ordo according to Francis' demand.

Abandoning the Roman Rite would “kill what has shaped our spiritual being for decades,” De Blignières writes explaining that his community is “guided by fidelity to the Apostolic See intimately united with attachment to the Latin tradition.”

Traditionis Custodes is for him an invitation "to reject ‘the form in which God wants us to be holy,’ as Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity said of her Rule.” Therefore the Original Liturgy cannot be eliminated.

Another reason why the liturgy cannot be abandoned is for de Blignières "the honour of the Holy See" which has assured his and other groups that “all measures will be taken to guarantee their identity.” Accordingly, their members have taken vows which bind them to the Rite of Always.
