In August Bishop Gregory Ochiagha, 86, celebrated the first traditional Latin ordination in Nigeria. At the end of this Mass he whispered, “I am so happy, I am so happy.”
Talking to the New York Times Ochiagha explained that people thought at the time of the liturgical change that the Church was collapsing.
“The traditional Mass encourages reflection and prayer,” he said. “The new Mass gives itself to jamboree.”
