Traditionis Custodes: Francis’ Reference to World Bishops Is DISHONEST

“With the passage of thirteen years, I instructed the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to circulate a questionnaire to the bishops regarding the implementation of the Motu proprio Summorum Pontificum. The responses reveal a situation that preoccupies and saddens me and persuades me of the need to intervene.”

This claim is contained in Francis' July 16 letter which accompanies his controversial Motu Proprio Traditionis Custodes - but it seems to be just another of his lies.

Specula writes on InfoVaticana.com (July 30) that there was “no pressure from the world episcopate” to crack down on the Roman Rite.

Only about 30% of the questionnaires were completed and returned to Rome. More than half of them showed “favourable or neutral positions.”

Speculas conclusion, “At best, 15% of the world's bishops are in favour of Traditionis Custodes.”

With 87% of bishops permitting TLM in their diocese (with pastoral solicitude and discerning the lack of divisive extremism) contrary to Francis' urgent demand for TLM lockdown, you wonder what the actual results of the survey was which he referred.
