Schneider Advises Bishops: Don’t Observe Francis’ Merciless Law

Archbishop Arthur Roche’s December 18 attack on the Mass reopens old wounds, “borders on mockery,” “glaringly contradicts” Francis’ policy of healing wounds, and betrays - with Francis’ words - “hostile inflexibility,” Bishop Athanasius Schneider writes on RemnantNewspaper.com (December 22).

Roche's ukase is of an unheard-of and rigid uniformity "reminiscent of certain Inquisition verdicts” and imposes in “a cold bureaucratic manner merciless and discriminatory norms.”

Schneider rebuts with Sacrosanctum Concilium 37 Francis' false claim that the Novus Ordo is the "only expression" of the Mass: "Even in the liturgy, the Church has no wish to impose a rigid uniformity in matters which do not implicate the faith or the good of the whole community.”

He encourages the bishops to extend “creative charity” towards the Roman Rite faithful as Francis himself has often asked bishops to apply pastoral creativity. They can apply the moral principle of epikeia, whereby a law is not observed, in whole or in part, for the sake of a greater good.

Schneider insists that those who currently happen to hold authority in Rome "cannot behave as though they are the owners of a millennium old liturgical treasury of the Church.”

The Roche attack will go down in history as a tragic example of the Holy See resolving a delicate pastoral problem with violence, Schneider predicts. He witnesses an “intransigent Inquisition-like method being employed in a pontificate that has styled itself as one of ‘tenderness’ and pastoral sensitivity.”

The Vatican has erected Roman Rite Institutes guaranteeing them the use of the Roman Ordination Rites. Denying it now “would set a terrible example of breaking one’s solemn word and would diminish the Holy See’s credibility and integrity.”

Asked why the Vatican allows homosex propaganda in the name of synodality but restricts Roman Rite Catholics, Schneider replies, “The Holy See’s arbitrary ‘picking and choosing’ reveals to any objective observer that ‘synodality’—with its ‘listening to all’—is actually a one-sided ideological endeavour.”

This is “not true synodality but a self-centered effort of intolerant, like-minded people with a prefixed agenda.”

Bergoglio's so-called "mercy" is for all enemies of God and the Church and for his unrepentant homosexual accomplices and pedophiles, as he uses the rod of vengeance against priests who remain faithful to God.
