Sister Teresina of O. J.
Teresina, the second youngest of eight children, was born of Antonio Calvino and Mariantonia del Bagno, in Polla, in the province of Salerno, Campania, Italy, on June 14, 1907. She grew up as a vivacious girl because of her parent’s love. When she was a little girl, she liked running in the fields; going higher and higher on the swing “to touch the sky”; picking cherries from the trees and bringing Jesus some flowers. Through her Parent’ faith the Holy Spirit fired up in Teresina’s heart a great love for Jesus: In fact At the age of fourteen, talking to some friends of hers Teresina said: “I am Mary’s daughter and Jesus is my only Bridegroom”.
In the search for the will of Jesus, Teresina at the age of 17 entered first the Monastery of the Benedictine of Eboli, then at 22 years old, became a sister of the Missionaries of the Sacred Chest of Jesus, in Gravina di Puglia, where she was appointed Mother of novices and finally, at 28 yers old she followed, as a humble daughter, one of her novice, Sister Liliana of Paradise for the beginning of a new Catholic Congregation named: Society of the Queen of The Lilies. In the five years that she lived with Mother Liliana of Paradise with the support of the charism of purity, she reached the height of Love! In fact, on March 5, 1940, at the age of 33, she will die like Jesus , not before having reassured Mother Liliana that she would have done, for the Society of the Queen of The Lilies, much more from Heaven!
