Shot in the Head: Muslims Murder Italian Sister

Islamic terrorists murdered Combonian Sister Maria De Coppi, 83, in Chipene, Mozambique, on the night of September 6 at 9pm.

Trying to reach the dormitory where some girls were left, she was hit in the head by a bullet.

All diocesan buildings in Chipene were burnt down. Four other sisters, Angeles, and Paula (Spain), Eleonora (Italy), and Sandrine (Togo) survived.

Father Loris Vignandel, 45, a former parish priest in Italy, and Father Lorenzo Barro, 56, a former rector of Pordenone seminary, Italy, both Fidei Donum priests from Pordenone Diocese, were also attacked.

During the assault, one of them wrote in a chat, "I have forgiven those who will eventually kill me" and "I will see to protect you from there [= heaven]."

Sister Maria arrived in Mozambique in 1963 after a 31-day journey by ship, and later acquired Mozambican citizenship. Last time, she visited Italy in October for medical checks.

Eternal rest grant unto Sister Maria, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.
