Spanish Queen: No Sign of the Cross (Video)

Queen Letizia, wife of Spain’s King Felipe VI, didn’t make the sign of the cross at the Madrid Mass for St James the Apostle, Spain’s patron saint.

Letizia is a devout atheist. The television cameras focused on the royal family as a deacon read the Gospel.

King Felipe VI, who is said to attend the Eucharist on Sundays, attempted to make the sign of the cross but did so poorly. The Infantas imitated him as best they could.

The Spanish King bearsthe title Rex Catholicissimus [= Most Catholic King]. Neither King Juan Carlos I nor Felipe VI have made use of the title, but they have not renounced it either.

Oh, yes we must pray for this queen's conversion. I wonder... she must have been at least baptized in order to marry the king with the sacrament of holy matrimony in the Roman Catholic Church. I wonder if they were married in the Church? I don't know, but I won't look it up. The video snippet says it all, we must pray for her conversion and the conversion of all poor sinners.
