Visionary concludes visit to Alabama, says Virgin Mary wants pilgrims to form prayer groups
STERRETT, Alabama -- Marija Lunetti, the visionary who has been reporting daily visions of the Virgin Mary(40,000 times and still counting) since she was a teenager in Medjugorje, Yugoslavia, had an apparition indoors at the home of her Shelby County host this morning.
That concluded a nationally publicized "five days of prayer" at Caritas of Birmingham, during which Lunetti had two outdoors apparitions in a field under a pine tree.
Lunetti, 47, had the outdoors apparitions at about 10 p.m. on July 3 and July 4, and during Tuesday night's visions Lunetti reported that the Virgin Mary asked for the formation of prayer groups. …More

A couple of days ago a good friend of mine she was dating this guy who went to Medjugorje and he clammed his rosary turned to gold. He posted the picture on facebook. He was huge devotee of Medjugorje. two days ago tragically he committed suicide?! If this devotion is fake these seers will have to stand before God and account for all the lies and even deaths such as this young man. He could have gone to Lourdes and gotten the real healing he needed not a trick the devil like to play. 🤦

The main takeaway from this sham is disobedience to Church authority! My own family members that promote this happening suddenly became experts and started speak 'authoritatively'.
Their authority.

For those healed in body, soul, mind or spirit, I will hazard a guess that it had more to do with the sacramental graces flowing from the mass and sacraments.

And please I don't wanna hear from one more relative about their rosary turning to gold.

Is it slander to wonder how this can be an authentic apparition, when the Curia has not approved it? I appreciate your conversion, and give thanks to God for it, but who do you trust as an infallible authority in such matters? It has to be the Pope or whosoever he delegates, and nobody else. Otherwise we have only mayhem.

The Holy Spirit can bring about good in the midst of good or of evil as He wishes. It's up to our bishops in union with the Pope and his councils to make all such determinations. We don't get a vote. Also, there is a process by which apparitions are investigated, and it is proven over many centuries of testing.

There are very few devotions (perhaps none, is there a Father in the house?) that are required de fide, or even named as authentic, but they are decided by Rome, not by a crowd or even by our "interior forum."

As Catholics we don't get to make up our own minds about matters of faith and morals. We don't have to, we just have to learn and apply the learning. (That's the hard part isn't it?)

There is no slander in questioning the authenticity of a newly-reported occurrence, particularly one termed "an apparition" by people with no such authority to claim.

Be at peace. You have spoken highly of Our Lady and obeyed her gentle call to your heart.

Deo Gratias!

It doesn't matter what you or anyone else thinks about Medjugorje. The 2 bishops, Pavao Zanic and his successor, Ratko Peric - the ecclesiastical authority as dictated by Canon Law and closest to the entire case history, have already spoken concerning the authenticity of the apparitions. Zanic even called it “the greatest scam in the history of the Church”

If you believe that you have gained because of Medjugorje, good. So be it. But, I would caution you to be very careful critiquing those of us (including the 2 bishops mentioned above) who are not so inclined.

Like you, I also have a story but it doesn't need to be told. But, if you are truly in search of the miraculous, why not go to Lourdes or Fátima (both places have been officially declared as "worthy of belief" by the Catholic Church) as we will be doing this Summer.

But, I go as a pilgrim, a miserable worm, a man full of sins who does not seek the miraculous but who goes to especially thank Our Lord through Our Lady for the numerous graces already granted to me including the grace of my faith which, although weak, will hopefully be nurtured by this pilgrimage. In the final analysis, it's all about me/you and my/your relationship with Christ especially when there is so much decay within the world and even within the Church itself.

Look, Sweet Cheeks be humble, be grateful and continue to ask for His mercy. Everything EVERYTHING you have (including your faith) can be taken away from you in an instant.

Now faith is the substance of things to be hoped for, the evidence of things that appear not. Hebrews 11:1

For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, for it is the gift of God; Ephesians 2:8-9

Praying to Our Lady will bring about conversion; however, people having a conversion per se to this "following" does not validate it what soever. This seems to be a recurring theme that pro-Medj. people say to try and legitimize it. For Our Lady to appear 40,000 times to these "seers" who are very wealthy now and live more secular lives then me is obscured. One can't use the argument to not judge this. That is not what Our Lord meant in the Scriptures. God gave us an intellect to judge what is false and what is true; and for someone to make a bold statement about Our Lady appearing should be judged by extreme scrutiny. If they are lying it should invoke anger in the faithful because its a lie about the Holy Mother of God. If what I have read the Holy Mother Church has declared this incident to be false or at least disobedient. God bless.

I was an atheist, and persecuted the catholic church, and thought of you as being brainwashed short minded, and unintelligent people. I disliked the Pope, the priests, nuns, etc. I thought God was just a creation of man born out of a psychological, and emotional necessity.

I've been a tough student when it comes to challenges and science, and I'm not talkig about literature or social sciences, but I'm talking about hardcore science such as math, chemistry, physics, etc.

To make a very long story short, I can give thanks to our Lady of Medjugorje for my conversion. Because a person as blasphemer as I was against God I challenged Her and God and they did what no human being can do on earth, but it was finally Jesus himself who put his hand in my heart and pulled out a thing that was glued to it. I do not know what it was but at that moment he talked to me and all I wanted to do was follow him blindly.

All this was thanks to our Lady of Medjugorje, and I have no words to describe my experience, nor the miracles that I asked God to perform before this occurrence that changed my life, and it's been over 10 yrs of a lot of work and hardships. When I was an atheist, I used to laugh at people (especially Catholics) who claimed to have "faith" and who fought for all "moral values' rather than using human logic to favor the few, and who I though so irrational for not "respecting" a human right to choose, I undermined all religious people catholic or non-catholic.

Now I'm paying the price of my conversion due to all my sins, and now it is others who laugh at me and do the things I used to say about you guys. You should not emote judgements so lightly, I had to change an entire life, detaching from people who are famous and others who work for NASA.

You should be careful when you emote judgements I would be afraid now of doing it, and to slander is not a virtue, do not follow the hear/say of bad mouths, or people who say that they want to follow God yet they want to be sitting on a couch with a beer or lemonade on their hand while the chicken is being cooked. To follow Jesus means to love with God's love and that's what our Lady in Medjugorje comes to teach us, she's come to show us what her son meant when he said that if we wanted to follow him we had to deny ourselves, so she is teaching us what that means, and we start by not being selfish, and afterwards we work on all those imperfections and defects such as slander. I was a professional slanderer and I thought I was a person with a very good rational judgement until God showed me how stupid I was, and how useless is all human knowledge and reasoning.

I am giving a brief and partial testimony and hope you would reconsider what you say and how you say it, and all those ridiculous links that I went to check to find a lot of unsatisfied people who just could not ind the paradise on earth they were looking for (ridiculous0. God Bless.

I bet if we brought back the inquisition Medjugorje seers would admit its a hoax.
Why does the virgin pray over the people. Why can't she just do that anytime anywhere? Its like an incentive to the people to come. They can leave saying "WOW! I was prayed over by the Virgin".

Medjugorje "work of the devil": Ex Vatican exorcist

"This whole sham is the work of the Devil. It is a scandal." Bishop Andrea Gemma, 77, once the Vatican's top exorcist, told a magazine in Italy: "In Medjugorje everything happens in function of money: Pilgrimages, lodging houses, sale of trinkets.

He predicted that the Vatican would soon crack down on the group.

The Medjugorje phenomenon began on June 25, 1981, when six children told a priest they had seen the Virgin on a hillside near their town. Some of the children also claim to have received ten secrets from Our Lady.

A church investigation dismissed the vision, and the Vatican banned pilgrimages to the site in 1985. But many Catholics ignored the ban.

Today, the seers own smart houses with security gates and tennis courts and expensive cars. One is married to a former US beauty queen.

Canon Law states that the local ordinary, that the Bishop is responsible for the investigation of the truth or non-truth of these cases. And it is known that in the case of Medjugorje, the two bishops (Pavao Zanic and his successor, Ratko Peric, ed) have expressed themselves strongly and without hesitation against the authenticity of the apparitions. Zanic even called it “the greatest scam in the history of the Church”
