Questions About Marthe Robin

In early May, the Foyer de Charité accused their co-founder Father Georges Finet who died in 1990, of having touched girls in an unproper way. Finet founded the Foyers together with the famous Marthe Robin who died in 1981. More than 100’000 people visited Marthe during her lifetime. Pope Francis confirmed in 2014 her heroic virtues. A miracle is approved. Marthe could be beatified at any time.

Totally Paralized?

We are told that Marthe, after an illness, was totally paralized and spent decades of her life in bed. Nevertheless, some people saw her moving around in her room. They were told by Father Finet that they had seen the devil who had taken her appearance. When Marthe died on the night of February 5, 1981, the official story was that she was "killed by the devil." Again, she was found at the foot of her bed with worn-out slippers on her feet.

No Food?

Suddenly, the promoter of her cause admitted, that she used to drag herself across the floor of her room during the night to sometimes satisfy her intimate needs. This is confirmed by the position of the inside lock of her room which was at a height of 40 centimeters and therefore within her reach. But why would she have “intimate needs” since it was said, that she didn’t eat nor drink for fifty years, except Holy Communion which she received once a week? And: She allegedly consumed it in a “miraculous way” because she was physically unable to swallow.

No Mass

In over fifty years, Marthe never attended a Holy Mass. In the beginning, people were told that Masses in private homes were not allowed by the Church. In the 1960s and later, such a dispensation would certainly have been granted. But nobody ever bothered to ask for it.

Blind?

In 1940 Marthe asked God for the sacrifice of her eyes to atone for the sins of the world, and she became blind. Nevertheless, light remained very painful for her eyes. Therefore, she lived in darkness ever since. However, in the early 1950s, local Valence Bishop Joseph-Martin Urtasun was worried to see her in perpetual darkness. He went to Marthe, had all shutters opened and saw her in full light. Exceptionally, Martha did not cry out in pain. Nobody even bothered to give her sunglasses. The “blind” Marthe also knew the drawers in her dresser well.

Doctrine of Cheap Love

Martha told her spiritual director Father Finet to start with retreats. Finet was famous for insisting a lot on lots of mercy and basically inconditional love of God. The slightest hint at penitence and austerity were met with an accusation of Jansenism. Not surprisingly, Marthe became the inspiration for many charismatic communities. Father Marie-Dominique Philippe, the founder of Saint John Community, became her friend. She discouraged Protestant pastors who came to see her from converting, except one, Gérard Croissant who became Frère Éphraïm and founded the Community the Beatitudes. Both of these founders were later accused of sexual abuses.

Sorry. many mystics came under this sort of suspicion and accusation. I don't see a substantial argument in any of this to prove fraud. But its good to be on guard.

Thank you for exposing this fraud.

Immediately contact the Vatican and expose “this fraud” before she is declared a saint.
The "heroic virtues" of Marthe Robin were recognized on 7 November 2014 by Pope Francis (Press release of the French Bishops). She is therefore declared venerable and recognition of a miracle could open the door to her beatification. Link
