Jerusalem Cardinal Condemns War Crimes in Gaza

The attacks on October 7 in southern Israel are “in no way permissible and we cannot but condemn it,” Cardinal Pizzaballa of Jerusalem writes on LpJ.org (October 24), adding that “there is no reason for such an atrocity.”

With "equal clarity", Pizzaballa declared that the new cycle of violence in Gaza has left more than five thousand dead, including women and children, tens of thousands of wounded, neighbourhoods razed to the ground, and more than two million people without medicine, lack of water and of basic necessities.

“These are tragedies that cannot be understood and that we have the duty to denounce and condemn unreservedly."

Pizzaballa calls for an end to this war, to "this senseless violence” and to end “decades of occupation”.

All due respect. The Post Conciliar Cardinals and Bishops have made themselves so irrelevant that even when they manage to speak a truth today, no one really cares for what they have to say.

“Once more my thoughts turn to what is happening in Israel and Palestine,” Pope Francis said on October 22. “I am very concerned, grieved. I pray and I am close to all those who are suffering: the hostages, the wounded, the victims and their relatives.”
“I think of the serious humanitarian situation in Gaza and I am saddened that the Anglican hospital and the Greek-Orthodox parish have also been hit in recent days,” he continued. “I renew my appeal for spaces to be opened, for humanitarian aid to continue to arrive, and for the hostages to be freed.”
“War, any war that there is in the world – I also think of tormented Ukraine – is a defeat. War is always a defeat; it is a destruction of human fraternity,” he added. “Brothers, stop! Stop!”

I see what he's doing there... "Hospital attack" (fake) now cemented into the narrative.
