San Rafael: Francis Resolves One Scandal with Another

After the resignation of Bishop Taussig, Francis appointed San Juan Auxiliary Bishop Carlos María Domínguez as San Rafael’s apostolic administrator.

In August 2021, Domínguez purchased for San Juan Archdiocese a house and a commercial room from a retired man, 78, who suffers from schizophrenia.

Later, the man’s two sons accused Domínguez of taking advantage of the man and not having transferred the money. The property was valued USD190K but allegedly sold for a tenth of this amount.

At the end, the sales contract was cancelled but criminal proceedings are ongoing, according to media reports.
