Catechist and Muslim: Cardinal Loses Two Brothers

Two half-brothers of Ouagadougou Cardinal Philippe Ouédraogo, Burkina Faso (60% Muslim, 23% Christian), were killed on March 19 during a work-related accident, local media write.

Gilbert Ouédraogo and Tasséré Ouédraogo were rebuilding the space over their father’s grave, who died more than 40 years ago. While trying to remove a plank from a reinforced concrete post, the post fell on them. They died in hospital.

Gilbert, a catechist, will be buried next week. Tasséré was already laid to rest in a Muslim ceremony.
