Novus Ordo: Priest Who Witnessed Murder in His House Has Died
A Left-Wing Nationalist. Father Jaume Reixach Felipe, a priest of Girona Diocese, Spain, died on Saturday 7 May at the age of 82, at a residence for priests in Girona. He was living in retirement since 2014. Girona is a city in northern Catalonia, and Reixach was a famous left-wing nationalist who fought for Catalonia’s independence from Spain.
Media’s Darling. Reixach formed a trio of friendship with two other priests, Father Francesc Romeu from Barcelona, a permanent guest on TV for discussions on ecclesiastical topics who once “blessed” two lesbians before TV cameras, and Piarist Father Enric Canet, another nationalist. The trio was also infamous for defending homosexual groups, and even wrote a book about this topic. Not without self-interest.
The Murder. Reixach had the habit of traveling to exotic countries, from where he brought young male adults, whom he called "godchildren." They would stay at his private home in Blanes where he was living despite being the parish priest in Riells i Viabrea which is 40km away. Jealousy arose between two of his “godchildren”, 44-year-old Eulogio Lumalang from the Philippines, and 22-year-old Odycleidson Kekeo Moraes from Brazil who had been living with the priest since he was 18. The Filipino ended up murdering the Brazilian in the flat and in the presence of the priest.
The Truth. At the trial, the murderer confessed that he had been having homosexual relations with Reixach for 18 years, that they used drugs together, and that Reixach had promised him his inheritance, something he saw endangered by the arrival of the Brazilian. Police found in the flat pipes for smoking drugs and abundant homosexual pornographic material. After this, Reixach complied with the restrictions imposed on him by the bishops who had always supported him.
