Cardinal Burke Mourns Pell

In Cardinal Pell, the Church has lost a wise, loving, joyful and courageous shepherd, writes Cardinal Raymond Burke (CardinalBurke.com, 12 January).

Burke visited Pell "at length" in hospital the afternoon before his hip operation, where he found him "full of energy" and willing "to help so many people suffering today from the pervasive confusion and division in the Church."

Burke particularly admired Pell's "Roman heart" because this proud son of Australia lived for the Church governed from Rome.

Cdl. Burke on Cdl Pell: he "was a tireless and fearless defender of the truths of the faith, beginning with the fundamental precepts of the moral law regarding the inviolability of innocent and defenseless human life, the integrity of marriage and its fruit in the family..."

@credo-NO, a significant number of Cardinals. Didn't you read of the Cardinals maneuvering to forge heretic Bergoglio out, force him to resign. Personally, I hope he is thrown out. I can't stand him or his people or his agenda. He can shove his "Synodal Church" where the sun don't shine. And the same for all his appointees and supporters.

Cardinal Pell had strong words to say and then he died.
