Cardinal Willem Eijk of Utrecht, Netherlands, has renewed his assessment that Amoris Laetitia is a source of confusion. He said to the Italian magazine Timone that the “different interpretations” of its chapter VIII “produce confusion” in the Church and that he would like “that the Pope would clarify this, preferably through some magisterial document.”
Eijk sees a possibility that civilly remarried divorcees receive Holy Communion, but “only if they vow to live together like brother and sister.”
