saltandlighttv on Sep 27, 2017 Yesterday, the Bishops traveled to Ottawa in the afternoon, to celebrate a Mass at the Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica, on the feast of the Canadian Martyrs and to consecrate Canada to the Blessed Virgin Mary on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation.
The Mass was presided by Archbishop Terrence Prendergast of Ottawa and Bishop Douglas Crosby, the current President of the Bishops conference and there were over 1000 people in attendance. Cardinal Gérald Lacroix, Archbishop of Québec, was the homilist and led the prayer of consecration to Mary together with Cardinal Thomas Collins of Toronto, and Archbishop Emeritus of Québec, His Eminence Marc Ouellet.
