The Fabbrica di San Pietro is currently reviewing the lighting of the dome of St Peter's Basilica. Work will continue in the coming weeks.

The lights of the latest generation will guarantee an even more intense and well-distributed light, writes FaroDiRoma.it (12 March).

They will help to enhance the dome, designed by Michelangelo himself, and create a greater visual impact.

The work will mainly focus on checking the lighting of the great dome's tambour (substructure), which will be tested for functionality and light intensity. Technical operations will also be carried out at night.

The project is part of a series of periodic maintenance operations carried out by the Fabbrica di San Pietro to preserve and enhance the Basilica and its artistic works.
