Some Cardinal somewhere, at one time referred to Bishops as 'clerks' rather than shepherds. One can see this man doesn't appear to be a deep thinker, so, clerking it is. But before doing the bidding of Church enemies through some sentimentalist notion of charity, perhaps one ought to see that those enemies are disavowed of their personal notions of relationship, sexuality, purity, faith, devotion, practice; and their legion of followers likewise informed.
