Sister Kumiko Kosaka, the Japanese nun whom the Argentine police paraded before the world in handcuffs, is innocent.
Despite a gigantic campaign of lies, Kumiko, her superior, the Paraguayan Sister Asunción Martínez, and seven laywomen accused of “sexual abuse” of deaf children were acquitted of all charges in Mendoza, Argentina, on October 18 by three female judges.
Even the institute's cook, Noemí Paz, had been accused. The trial lasted two and a half years. The prosecution had requested prison sentences of 25 and 10 years for the two nuns, and 18 and 3 years for the other women.
Representatives of the “victims” who wanted the trial but are now unhappy with the outcome, plan to appeal the sentence, claiming to AFP that the judges “did not understand” the “deaf culture” [= false accusations].
The women had worked at the Antonio Próvolo Institute for Deaf Children, one of Argentina's best centres specialising in the treatment of speech and hearing disorders, which was closed in 2016. …More
