Solesmes: New Abbot

The famous Benedictine Abbey of Solesmes, France, elected Prior Dom Geoffroy Kemlin, 43, May 17 as the new abbot.

Kemlin hails from a religious family in Paris and entered the monastery 23 years ago despite his father’s initial refusal.

Previously, Kemlin oversaw the abbey’s website, “But we don't spend our days on the Internet, otherwise there would be no point in being here.

Solesmes is famous for cultivating a Latin Novus Ordo inacceptable to the Novus Ordo mainstream.
