Winners and [Catholic] Losers – by Father Reto Nay

The US Navy charged four soldiers in the 2017 murder of a sergeant. The suspects allegedly strangled their victim after breaking into his room while he was sleeping.

This is how the U.S. Navy spokesman, Captain Jason Salata, commented on the crime: "We will not allow allegations or substantiated incidents of misconduct erode decades of honorable accomplishments by the members of [the highly questionable] U.S. Special Operations Command."

Compare this with the wimpy reaction of Catholic bishops in the face of an artificially created "abuse crisis".

After the publication of the shady Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report, Pope Francis buried himself in “shame” and claimed that “no effort to beg pardon and to seek to repair the harm done will ever be sufficient.” [sic!]

Dubia Cardinal Brandmüller concluded that [homo]sexual abuses have “shaken the Church to its foundations.”

Imagine Captain Jason Salata were Bishop Salata or Pope Jason. He would have commented the abuses like this:

"We will not allow allegations or substantiated incidents of misconduct to erode decades of honorable accomplishments by the priests of the Catholic Church."

Oh dear Father, you have left yourself wide open to counter rebuttals."Artificially created"? At best a poor description of an insidious evil problem in the church.
