Bishop Warns of Love and Narcotic Jihad – Court Case

The All-India Imams’ Council has filed a case against Palai Syro-Malabar Catholic Bishop Joseph Kallarangatt, 64, Kerala.

They accused him of “promoting disharmony,” “enmity” and “hatred” between religions, according to MattersIndia.com (November 2).

On September 8, Kallarangatt warned Catholic families in a homily of “love jihad,” meaning that Muslim men feign love to marry and convert Catholic women, and of “narcotic jihad” targeting non-Muslim youth with drugs.

Kallarangatt explained that “they have realised that in India, taking up weapons and destroying others isn’t easy and thus, they’re using other means.”

The Kerala Bishops and most Kerala Christians irrespective of their affiliation have supported Kallarangatt.

Yes, the GTV article said as much but I do appreciate the link as the article makes an important distinction. Those aren't the charges. Those are the causes of the charges (still unnamed) "under relevant sections of India Penal Code". It's going to be a mess...
