Reuters keeps repeating that Vatican Council II has changed the Church's teachings on other religions.(1) Is this is the true teaching of the Second Vatican Council II which the SSPX must accept?

Does the SSPX have to accept the Reuters theological understanding of Vatican Council II?

Reuters has made an objective error. It is a factual mistake, which is influencing their theology. They have used an irrational premise and so have a non traditional interpretation of Vatican Council II.

When Archbishop Muller says that the SSPX needs to distinguish the true teaching of the Second Vatican Council II he is not implying that the Reuters version is the correct one?

Unfortunately neither has the SSPX issued a clarification over the Reuters report which was picked up by many newspapers.

The clarification could have simply said that 'implicit salvation mentioned in Vatican Council II is not explicit for us. So no where does Vatican Council II contradict the traditional interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. It is a fact that we cannot see the dead. So if Reuters implies that we can see the deceased then it is a factual mistake.'

A priest of the SSPX has issued a clarification posted on CNS which said that the SSPX is not anti-Semitic and that their legal counsel has informed them, that some of the statements of Cardinal Kurt Koch are defamation. It said supernatural charity urges them to say that non Catholics need to convert into the Church.

This clarification completely ignored the point of Vatican Council II changing the Church's teachings on other religions.Since the SSPX also, in spite of the statement in its last General Chapter, assumes there is known salvation outside the church and that the deceased are visible to us. So how could they correct Reuters?

He said: “The SSPX need to distinguish between the true teaching of the Second Vatican Council and specific abuses that occurred after the Council, but which are not founded in the Council’s documents.”

Once again in the interview with The Catholic Herald U.K and on the blog The Path Less Taken Archbishop Gerhard Muller is drawing on theology and doctrine to criticize the Society of St.Pius X(SSPX) and the SSPX is not saying that Vatican Council and the Catechism of the Catholic Church are traditional if you do not use the premise of the dead who are saved being visible to us.

Both Archbishop Gerhard Muller and the SSPX use this false premise and so we have a modernist innterpretation of the Council, approved by the left.

If there are any SSPX priests who understand what I am saying here, probably they have to be quiet out of obedience and let the propaganda continue against the SSPX on the issue of doctrine when the Council really supports the SSPX.

Can Econe change its formation for future seminarians including those from the major Catholic religious communities ?

There are seminarians at Econe from the major religious communities (Dominicans etc) who are waiting to be ordained. In their religious formation they were taught at the Society of St.Pius X seminary that there are known exceptions to extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

They have had the Fr.Francois Laisney formation on this subject and so they assume that those saved in invincible ignorance etc are exceptions to the defined dogma- hence for them, Vatican Council II contradicts the traditional interpretation.

With this wrong premise they have been formed religiously to condemn Vatican Council II and the ‘conciliar church of Rome’.

The July 19, 2012 General Chapter communique of the Society of St.Pius X (SSPX) suggests there may be a change in future teaching at the SSPX seminary in Econe. The communique affirms the dogma on salvation and indicates there are no known exceptions.

Unlike Fr.Francois Laisney who has written a book on this subject, which is being sold by the SSPX, the communique indicates that the baptism of desire is irrelevant to the dogma.

So the SSPX is out of the phase of the old apologetics of the baptism of desire being an exception to the dogma. The baptism of desire is recognized but it is not an exception to anything. This was the misunderstanding of Archbishop Richard Cushing and the Jesuits at Boston. The Letter of the Holy Office 1940 could have also made a mistake in the latter paragraphs and so Fr.Peter Scott, the District Superior of the SSPX (USA) would prohibit contacts with supporters of Fr.Leonard Feeney.

So how can Econe completely change its formation for future seminarians, including those who presently study there, from the major Catholic religious communities ?

The ‘conciliar church’ is modernist it is true-and it is a modernism based on the premise of the visible-dead. This is the same error which is a part of the formation at Econe and the Pontifical Seminaries and universities in Rome.-Lionel Andrades

Vatican Council II does not contradict the traditional teaching on other religions: message for Econe

Vatican Council II does not contradict the traditional teaching on other religions.Econe needs to cite contrary text.

Two priests of the Society of St.Pius X(SSPX) in Rome, over the last two days, indicate that Vatican Council II agrees with the traditional teaching on other religions. Since Vatican Council II does not mention any case of salvation which is not implicit. There is no case of salvation mentioned in the text of the Council which indicates there are persons in 2013 who are dead and now saved and who are visible to us. So there is no known salvation outside the Church. Every one needs to be a visible member of the Church, with Catholic Faith and the baptism of water (AG 7) to go to Heaven and avoid Hell.

So the SSPX leadership at Econe would have to review its position on other religions. Or, provide if they can, any reference in Vatican Council II which contradicts the centuries old traditional teaching .

Even the Society's USA website in the article 'Is the SSPX in heresy?' could not cite any text to show Vatican Council II has changed the Church's teachings on other religions and outside the church there is no salvation.

In the past Econe assumed the Council contradicted the traditional teaching on other religions, since it was assumed that implicit salvation was explicit.
