Father Jean-François Six, 93, a famous French writer belonging to the Mission of France has been defrocked.
He was the founder of the Service incroyance-foi of the French Bishops, member of the National Commission of Human Rights, president of the National Centre of Mediation which he founded in 1988, and director of the Institute of Training in Mediation.
With a member of the Grand Orient de France, he started the masonic dialogue review Brèche.
Six became famous with 47 theological, spiritual and biographical works, notably on Thérèse de Lisieux and Charles de Foucauld.
Suspended in July 2019 following accusations of sexual abuses against adult women, he was dismissed from the clerical state in February 2021, admitting the sexual abuse of some 15 women, now in their 80s and 90s, between the 1950s and the 1990s.
He imposed on them sexual touching, fellatios and rapes, depending on the case, sometimes accompanied by purification rituals.
