Yesterday morning, the aureole of Jesus Christ on the baroque Pietà in St Peter's Chapel in the old town of Lucerne, Switzerland, was again found to have been damaged.
One of Christ's three aureoles, the one on the crown of Christ's head, had been stolen. This happens at regular intervals and for the umpteenth time.
Sometimes it is one, sometimes two or all three of the rays that are forcibly removed. Again and again they are repaired and reinforced. Again and again the beams are sawn or torn out.
Neither protection (glass protection) nor a surveillance camera and probably no police report are the result.
Lucerne belongs to the diocese of Basel, which is artificially kept alive by the state church tax.

What would happen if a statue of Mohamed were desecrated in a similar manner? Just asking.

Just put a darn camera up. What's wrong with these people?! It's like Europe has become so whipped after WWII that they turned into gruel mush. Grow a backbone before it's too late!
