Tucker Carlson is mistaken. The Jewish people are indeed the chosen people. Why? Because God revealed Himself to this people first. He made His covenant with this people. He made His promises to this people. The Messiah was born from this people. The Immaculate One came from this people. Read in the New Testament - in the letter to the Romans - what Saint Paul says about the Jewish people and how he suffers because this chosen people did not recognize their Messiah.
It is true that because the Jews rejected Jesus as the Messiah, salvation also went to the Gentiles. In that sense, Tucker is right that in principle everyone is called to belong to the chosen people by accepting Jesus as Savior.
But that does not alter the fact that the Jewish people remain the chosen people in a special way and that God remains faithful to this people, even if the people themselves are unfaithful. The Jews' acceptance of Jesus as the promised Messiah will be a turning point in the history of salvation and the history of the whole world.
True, and true. Technically they used to be the chosen ones but they "unchose" themselves by killing and rejecting the Messiah our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Now my problem with most Catholics is how some brush an entire nation, for the deliberate and evil manipulation of the jewish atheistic swamp, whom, shut down all synagogues to read most Jesus messianic prophecies like Isaiah 53, shut the Mercy gate in Jerusalem and gave Bethlehem to the palestinian authority, those 3 examples alone shows you the people in power dont really believe and the entire nation has drank the kool aid.
Yes, Christianity is the new Jerusalem, the new covenant, but we need to learn how to speak to them, forgiving without forgetting who killed our Lord.

@Jeffrey Ade - it's a roundabout way of saying the old covenant has been fulfilled in Christ. Thus the role of a biological chosen people/Israel has been replaced by the Church.
