President al-Assad meets Melkite Greek Catholic Bishops

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad received on Tuesday Melkite Greek Catholic bishops, headed by Patriarch Joseph Absi, on the occasion of his appointment as Patriarch of Antioch and All East.

The meeting dealt with the Jihadist war against Syria. Assad praised the role played by the Church in consolidating national unity. Patriarch Absi expressed his confidence that Syria will achieve victory against extremism and terrorism.

Assad is very popular, because he has successfully defended his country against a Jihadist war sponsored by the U.S., their Western allies, Saudi Arabia, and Israel.
