Why do these "trad caths" always shield Leo XIV from the wind? He is responsible for all the documents the DDF produces. His signature is on them. When Leo does not fire Fernandez, it means that he wants to take responsibility for all the heresies the DDF produces. That he shares the same believes. So if anyone has to leave, it is Leo XIV. Fernandez is merely his pawn.
