The Fellow in the Picture Is a Bishop

Boston Auxiliary Bishop, Mgr Robert Reed, 65, Massachusetts, was at home recovering from an infection on 24 June.

But he was well enough to post a picture of himself on Twitter.com wearing a T-shirt from the 1985 comedy film 'Pee-wee's Big Adventure'.

This T-shirt has a tragic background: "I decided to wear this, my nephew Dan's T-shirt. He died nine months ago from a fentanyl overdose," Reed wrote.

To avoid further tragedies, Bishop Reed should be promoting the Catholic Faith instead of a Warner Bros. production.

He's at home recovering; ok, let him wear a t-shirt, and he's wearing it in memory of his nephew who died of a drug overdose. That's very sad. We need to remember to deal with one another with charity.

He has always struck me to be a sincere priest. I believe that he has confirmed for TLM communities on several occasions as well.

Funny, he always struck me as a phony and an opportunist. Perhaps the Bishop could wear a "my nephew died of a fentanyl overdose" T-shirt rather than an advertisement for Pee-wee Herman?

@firefamily2000 Do you only know him from tv?

I do not have a personal friendship with Reed. He has been a very public clergyman in Boston for 10+ years to my recollection. I have seen him mostly with children wearing Catholic school uniforms from what appears to be the 1960's. I believe he represents the nostalgia department of Vatican 2 church. Viva la Vigano.

What’s wrong with a prince of the apostles wearing a T-shirt featuring a Jew pedophile registered sex offender? Why, he shows every qualification to become head of the conciliar Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith!
