He reminds me of disgraced UK bishop Kieran Conry, who got caught having a sexual relationship with a woman. Admitting his failing, Bishop Conry nevertheless maintained: “I don’t think people would say I have been a bad bishop.” Conry also defended himself against charges of hypocrisy: “I have been very careful not to make sexual morality a priority,” he said. “I don’t think it got in the way of my job.” When bishops can't preach clearly about Catholic morality, there is always a reason.

Thanks @English Catholic - I've been reading GTV for a few years now and finally registered today. Bishop Barron has been a disgrace to me since before his interview with Ben Shapiro. He was in a documentary with William Friedkin of Fr. Gabriele Amorth where he cowers and says he wouldn't want to perform an exorcism, and I paraphrase. That's a dereliction of a Bishop's duty. As I said, bishops (and priests) keep quiet or tone down Catholic moral teaching nearly always because they are compromised themselves, part of the diabolical disorientation Sr Lucia spoke of.
