On his flight to Panama, Pope Francis asked the journalists on the plane to pray for the late Russian journalist Alexey Bukalov. He was the ITAR-TASS bureau chief in Rome and covered Vatican affairs for over ten years. Francis said – quote, “This is the first flight where a journalist is missing whom I liked very much.” According to Francis, Bukalkov had – quote – “a humanism that is not afraid of what is human and not even of what is divine.” Bukalov died in late December at the age of 78 in Rome.

The Pontifical Swiss Guard, the small army of around 135 Swiss soldiers based in the Vatican, is responsible for the safety of the Pope. The Glock 19 pistol and Heckler & Koch MP7 submachine gun are reportedly also carried by Swiss Guard members in their function as plainclothes bodyguards.

The Pontifical Swiss Guard, the small army of around 135 Swiss soldiers based in the Vatican, is responsible for the safety of the Pope. The Glock 19 pistol and Heckler & Koch MP7 submachine gun are reportedly also carried by Swiss Guard members in their function as plainclothes bodyguards.
Pontifical Swiss Guards have four primary duties:
to accompany the Holy Father on his travels
to protect the College of Cardinals during papal transitions
to guard the entrances to the Vatican City
to perform other security and honorary services
In addition to the Swiss Guard, Vatican City has its own police, known as the Gendarmerie Corps. They help augment the Pontifical Swiss Guard during the Pope’s appearances, especially those in Saint Peters Square and abroad, The Gendarmerie Corps are also equipped with a full range of modern weaponry, include Glock pistols and Heckler & Koch and Beretta sub-machine guns.

Does HH realize that the President of the United States, at his inauguration, took an oath to enforce the Constitution of the United States and it is that very constittuion which states that the primary duty of the Federal Government is to protect and defend the citizens of the United States?
Does HH realize that the most important aspect of border security is keeping America safe especially from the Illegal drugs, weapons, terrorists, and criminal gangs that pour into the United States through our unsecured border.
Many people coming across America’s southern border are in need of welfare services. This is a strain on limited public resources like medical services, schools and the criminal justice system. President Trump was right when he said some countries do not always send us their best and brightest – most immigrants are not self-sufficient.
Your Holiness, tell us how a person who doesn’t have the means to support themselves and does not speak proper English is going to be anything other than a burden on American society? Who is going to pick up the tab for this? Will the Catholic Church pay for it?
Will the Vatican pay for it? Or, will the American taxpayer have to pay for it? 
No, your Holiness, it is not “fear” that motivates our President any more than it is “fear” which motivates your own Swiss Guard. President Trump is motivated by a steadfast love for his country, it’s citizens and their security and welfare in this increasingly unstable world.
