Vienna Cardinal Dismisses Deacon Who Democratically Criticised Forced Vaccinations

Vienna's Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, dismissed (January 19) Uwe Eglau, an unpaid deacon, whom he hypocritically called a "dear confrere", from his service in the police chaplaincy.
Eglau is a courageous critic of the vaccination scare passed in Austria on Thursday. In lockstep with the regime, Schönborn wrote him:
"Your public expressions of opinion regarding the government measures to combat the Corona pandemic in the form of an open letter to the Federal Minister of the Interior or through your public appearance at the Corona demonstration on 15 January are liable to be misinterpreted as the official position of the Catholic Church, and thus may subsequently cause damage to the relationship of church and state in the area of police chaplaincy, which is characterised by mutual trust."
Schönborn's claim that a courageous deacon could be confused with Austria's cowardly and opportunistic bishops is preposterous.
