Priest-Theologian Urges Pope Leo XIV to Heal Self-Contradiction Since Francis

On 12 August, the renowned Father Brian Harrison, 80, published an open letter to Pope Leo XIV on OnePeterFive.com. The letter, dated 22 July, concerns Francis's document Amoris Laetitia.
Father Harrison has taught many years at the Pontifical Catholic University in Puerto Rico, and returned in his old days to his native Australia.
In his letter, he speaks of a "practically unprecedented problem" that Pope Leo XIV has inherited from his predecessor, Francis: Chapter VIII of Amoris Laetitia permits couples living in an "objectively sinful situation" as adulterers to receive Communion in certain cases.
Father Harrison comments: "The clear tradition of the Church has been that, in no case whatsoever, may persons in that situation be given Holy Communion. This is the very troubling contradiction."
Francis's predecessors were aware of mitigating factors: "But they nonetheless absolutely excluded anyone living in adultery from Communion, precisely because of their objective status."
And, "…More

The only benefit of this open letter is to set a precedent for the public denunciation of Bergoglio's heresies.
Because the problem is that the theologian is asking a heretic to correct his heretical mentor.
Prevost himself is a heretic who joined Bergoglio's rebellion against God and the Church by supporting Amoris Laetitia and the homosexual pamphlet Fiducia Supplicans.
From the beginning, Prevost made it clear that he continued to support the reprobate apostate Bergoglio. And not only has he expressed his gratitude to the reprobate Bergoglio, but he has also cited Bergoglio's heretical pamphlets in several of his own documents.

Fr Harrison isn't asking for a clarification, as if there were confusion about what it says. He basically wants a retraction.

Amoris Laetitia created a mess that – unlike Traditionis Custodes – will be very difficult to clear up, rooted as it is in a sneakily ambiguous footnote designed to cause maximum confusion.

The problem is that it, like all such petitions and letters, asks wolves to stop being wolves. It won't work. A wolf can postpone his dinner, or even let the sheep eat grass, but he will remain a wolf and his goal is to eat all the sheep.

I appreciate Father Brian Harrison's bravery and courage, but if Prevost doesn't act, it means he's joined Bergoglio's rebellion against God and the Church. That strategy didn't work with Bergoglio. Does anyone think it could work with one of his accomplices? We need more concrete actions. It's time to end the dialogue with the heretics.
I can't imagine an open letter to Lucifer for rebelling against God.

Aside from ending dialogue with the heretics, what can be done to secure the Catholic deposit of faith for generations to come?

Oh, thank God someone has had the courage to speak up about this terrible insult to God. God Bless Father Harrison

Bless him. I wish he had more of his ilk.

An open letter, "urging" the Pope to reconsider a papal text. Beautiful show of honor & respect, rather than rebellion.

Open letter to Pope Leo XIV to correct Bergoglio's heretical deviation in Amoris Laetitia, which attacks and contradicts Catholic doctrine on matters of faith and morals and challenges God's laws.

By inheriting a heretical pseudo-magisterium and failing to correct it, Robert Prevost becomes an accomplice to Bergoglio's rebellion against God and the Church.

If a new bank manager knows that his predecessor has stolen a large sum of money and committed other crimes and does not report it, he has become an accomplice to the criminal.

@brhenry come and see.

This looks like a rebellion in the New Church.

To be credible, Prevost needs to start by condemning the blatant heresies and apostasy of the reprobate Jorge Bergoglio contained in his anti-Catholic pamphlets Fiducia Supplicans and Amoris Latitia and Abu Dhabi. Condemn all of Bergoglio's heretical deviations on matters of Faith and Morals. Condemn Bergoglio as a heretic. Condemn the German and Bergoglian synodal path. Protect the Traditional Mass and expel his accomplices from the Church.
