Cruel and Divisive: Angry Francis Still Fuming Against Roman Rite
An apostolic constitution against the Mass has been under review by Francis since January, RemnantNewspaper.com (February 18) has learned.
It will attempt to expand Traditionis Custodes by claiming that the "only official liturgy" of the Latin Rite is the Novus Ordo [and the Congo liturgy].
While TC persecuted the diocesan clergy, the new document targets the Ecclesia Dei communities. It will forbid all Roman Rite ordinations and prohibit all sacraments except the Mass.
The document was written under the direction of Archbishop Viola, the Secretary of Cardinal Roche's Dicastery for the Liturgy.
There is even talk of prohibiting all Sunday Masses. According to RemnantNewspaper.com, there is a second draft written by an Italian Cardinal created in 2022, probably Gianfranco Ghirlanda, 80, SJ.
His option would have similar consequences but appears to be less harsh and focuses on praising alleged "blessings" resulting from Paul VI’s failed liturgical reform. This text would empower the bishops to destroy the Roman Rite.
However, there is a "considerable opposition" from members of the Roman Curia, who describe both documents as "cruel" and "divisive" and a "repudiation of Benedict XVI’s legacy."
