Argentine Archbishop on Mayan Rite: "Francis Abolishes the Worship of God"

Archbishop Héctor Aguer, 81, of Argentina, has criticized Francis for incorporating "popular Argentine vices" into the liturgy, he wrote on Infovaticana on Nov. 28 about Francis' approval of the "Mayan Rite" in Mexico.
Archbishop Aguer records the incorporation of pagan elements into the Eucharist: abundant incense, the participation of women who intervene as if they were priestesses, popular music alien to the religious setting, applause, and dancing.
He describes these changes as part of a broader dismantling of the Catholic liturgy. This is "the arrival point of the transformation of the Catholic liturgy, already torn to pieces, into the abolition of the Worship of God."
