This is at least a 20 or 25 year trend. After a few years, most tend to assimilate in order to fit in, or “get ahead.” Check in with them in 5-10 years. The seminary is a far cry from the presbyterate.

@Orthocat I was obviously only being “tongue in cheek” about the merch, but was only pointing out that the only way Kamala assumes the office of president is if Joe resigns. If they remove him by the 25th Amendment, she would only be “acting.” There may have been a mysterious case of this happening somewhere in the first quarter of 2013, but I can’t really remember.

@Liam Ronan It’s still Biden, officially, but who knows when the last time he was actually capable was? The football is a legitimate question, for sure. Pretty much any imaginary concern they had about Trump is a legitimate concern with Biden, and the nuclear codes are included. If he admits to having dementia, he would either have to resign, or his cabinet would be forced to invoke the 25th Amendment, which would make Kamala “acting president.” If he resigned, she would officially be the 47th president, and a lot of Trump merchandise would be ruined.

We’ll see what they do, but this wouldn’t be a bad one for them to “throw in the towel.” 2028 will be wide open, and they would have a much better shot in the 2026 midterms if Trump is back in office. She’ll be like Hubert Humphrey in 1968.
