Fr. Altman is a secular diocesan priest: as such, he is not bound by a “vow” of poverty. Have you forgotten that he was a successful civil lawyer before becoming a priest? The purchase as reported was entirely legal and ethical.

Bishop of Austin to Pastors: Make it hard for people to kneel for Communion

Banning the use of kneelers is an abuse of power and imposition of one mode of receiving Holy Communion over another. The option to kneel is not an exception, but one of two options! "[U]nless an individual member of the faithful wishes to receive Holy Communion while kneeling" (GIRM 160). No reason apart from a "wish" is required to justify receiving while kneeling. That makes it part of the norm itself, not an exception.

Distinction: Christ the Redeemer and Mary the Co-Redemptrix

Father (pardon me, I didn't know until just now that you were a priest), we're on the same page! I believe that the Blessed Virgin Mary is Co-Redemptrix and Mediatrix. I just don't think that you've articulated it in the form of a formally valid syllogism stricto sensu, only lato sensu. I'm grateful for your dispensing of the sacred mysteries as an SSPX priest.

“Gnat straining”? Citing anonymous authorities is palpably not demonstrative. Explain how your argument does not have six terms, please! Term by term. Or provide the names of the experts you reference so I can confer with them directly.

K R, an imperfect syllogism may not be erroneous or false (those are questions of material validity), but strictly speaking, the syllogism you propose with six terms is formally invalid. I'm just trying to help, for assuredly one would not want one's enemy raising such objections in a formal setting. I'm your friend, not your enemy.

KR, thank you for considering my animadversion and working on eliminating the fallacy. Reviewing your Minor attempting to prove your distinction of the Minor, I'll try to be "socratic" in an effort to be "aristotelian". First question: How many copulae or verbs are in your proof? I count 1) "is" in the Major premise's predicate; 2) "are" in the Minor premise's predicate; 3) "do not compromise" in the conclusion. Correct? There should only be one identical verb, otherwise an illicit process occurs. Second question: How many terms are there? I count: 1) "Christ" (subject of Major premise); 2) "Redeemer" (predicate of Major premise); 3) "Mary's roles" (subject of Minor premise); 4) "entirely by association" etc. (predicate of Minor premise); 5) technically "title" is not the same univocal term as "roles" but that can be debated; and finally 6) "do not compromise" etc.. I count six terms. when a proper syllogism should only have three.

KR, your argument was meant to be referenced: it can however only have 3 terms (Major, Minor, and Middle Terms). The predicate of your Minor premise introduced a fourth term…

Chris, I agree with you, the BVM is Co-Redemptrix and Mediatrix, but the syllogism you articulate above is fallacious (Fallacy of the Four Terms).

Abortion

Absolutely not! It's a defined Dogma of the Faith that there is no salvation without Baptism. Abortion deprives a child of access to Heaven. Limbo -- still in the official Catechism of the Catholic Church - is where the souls of the unbaptized go who die albeit not in the state of mortal sin.

Charlotte Diocese Removes Portable Kneelers for Communion

From Catholic Answers: "Persistent liturgist influence succeeded in establishing standing as the “normal” way to receive Communion in the United States. This posture was codified in the new, revised GIRM promulgated by Pope John Paul II during the Jubilee Year 2000 (but not actually issued until March 18, 2001). Among the approved “American adaptations” to this new revised GIRM is one that specifies “the norm for reception of Holy Communion is standing” (GIRM 162:3). The text goes on immediately to say, “Communicants should not be denied Holy Communion because they kneel.”

Universal law does not, but the local "adaptation" of the USCCB does -- with the proviso that a communicant who wishes to receive kneeling "should not" be denied reception of Holy Communion. So the "norm" has a built-in exception that is concomitant. Any denial of reception of Holy Communion on the tongue is actionable canonically, if the communicant was at the time of attempted reception on the knees "otherwise unimpeded" pursuant to cann. 843 par. 1 and 915 CIC. If denied, it is important to seek immediately the assistance of any witnesses to the denial, obtain their names and contact information.

Qui Bono? Credit to Monkey Werx US

Google A.I. disagrees: “ The correct Latin phrase is "Cui bono", not "Qui bono". "Cui bono" translates to "to whose benefit?" or "who benefits?" and is used to identify the motivation or beneficiaries of a crime, event, or action. The error of "qui bono" likely arises from confusing the Latin words for "who" (qui) and "to whom" or "for whom" (cui).l

I respectfully disagree with your conclusion, which I assume is formulated as so: "All who wish to be saved must reach moral certainty regarding the legitimacy of the current Pope." Please formulate a probatory syllogism in order to prove your argument.

The way Novus Ordo clergy mock the liturgy and sacraments…. This is off a real clerics Instagram page

The priest is real, I've seen other "skits" done by him. While his intentions are assuredly well-meaning, his Bishop needs to have a serious sit-down with him, issue a Precept -- a Penal Precept if this is not the first time the Bishop has to instruct him -- prohibiting him from misusing means of social communication. I suspect that the "influencer" priest Fr. Casey Cole, OFM, was a bad influence on this young priest.
